The game

From a garage to something much bigger

A viral headline claims scorpion venom is worth "$39 million a gallon," so you quit your job. Your mentor Walt sets you straight: nobody buys a gallon, and labs buy milligrams. You start in a garage with two bark scorpions and a laptop.

Each day you have a handful of hours. Click around the garage, kitchen and bedroom to tend your terrariums, milk venom in a timing minigame, breed your scorpions, read the news and clip facts you can use later, and make a deal with a lab buyer. New systems open about one a week, so the first days stay simple. Further in, the business grows, a rival shows up, the law takes an interest and the stakes climb.

The playtest starts with Act 1, your first 90 days. The title screen's Jump In menu also lets you try later acts and minigames.

Release

American Venom is early. The current build is v0.12.1, and it's the first one you can play in a browser. The art is placeholder pixel art and there's no sound yet. Expect rough edges, balance that changes from build to build, and the occasional bug. That's exactly why we're sharing it now.
